Leonie Hill
This 30-year-old 5000sqft 3 storey penthouse apartment located in the heart of the Singapore shopping district was completely revamped and remodeled for the well-travelled owners who love green. Thus, elements of wood in various forms and shapes are used throughout the house, providing a woody and natural base note to the house.
Walking out from the lift, we walked straight into the hallway leading to the living room. The elevated workstation is linked to the living room as the owners of the house need a workstation which they can keep a lookout on their kid while working from home. The open concept adopted for the study area allows a harmonious flow of space and interaction with the living and dining areas. That was the result of a remodeling of the space which included the bringing down of walls as well as a reconfiguration of a store, part of the living room, as well as a bathroom to allow space for the new study. The workstation then leads to the kitchen located behind it. The dining hall next to the living room has a high ceiling opening up to the skyline with an unobstructed view of the estate.
We also constructed a roof terrace with a delightful personal haven with a roof garden, swimming pool, steam room, lounge and cooking area. To increase the decking space around the pool for more room, we revamped the pool to make it smaller. In addition, we also constructed a glass shelter to provide more shades outdoor.
