For the owners who travel extensively for both work & leisure, their design brief was to have a red brick house infused with a touch of modernity and comfort. Located in the serene enclave of Thomson Gardens, this residence evokes the nostalgic aura of a retired warehouse while adding a contemporary twist.
Our design journey embarked with the aim of creating a space that would leave a lasting impact on its inhabitants. This house transforms the owner’s dream into a tangible reality, offering an oasis of serenity amid the bustling world.
A centrally positioned steel-concrete staircase divides the area into distinct private and communal zones. Full-height glass panels in the living and kitchen areas seamlessly extend into the spacious porch, creating a fluid connection with the garden while facilitating natural ventilation and light.
The interplay of grey, white & black hues integrates seamlessly throughout the flooring, walls, and ceiling. Coupled with the rustic allure of concrete and brick finishes, this artistry delivers a minimalist ambiance that encapsulates modern-contemporary aesthetics.
For the lady of the house who loves baking & cooking, the dry kitchen is a sanctuary, bordered by vast glass doors that frame a captivating view of the meticulously landscaped garden.
This home is a testament to the adage “less is more.” From the expansive entrance that gracefully transitions into the kitchen-cum-dining area, where natural light streams through expansive windows serve as the backdrop for the steel-concrete staircase, to the exterior havens like petite gardens, balconies, and rooftop terraces—each element has been meticulously crafted to maximize comfort and functionality.
In conclusion, this residence transcends the confines of bricks and mortar. This house exemplifies that even in limited spaces, complete and comfortable living experiences can be achieved through thoughtful design.
